App Terms of Use
1. What Halor is — and is not
Halor is an educational healthspan companion: lessons, trackers, and tools that help you organise information and prepare for conversations with your physician.
Halor is not a medical device and does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. No content in the app — lessons, targets, reference ranges, Co-Pilot answers, scores, or prompts — is a substitute for the judgement of a qualified clinician who knows you. Always consult your physician before acting on anything you learn in Halor, and never delay seeking care because of something the app shows. If you may be experiencing an emergency, call your local emergency number immediately.
Using Halor creates no doctor–patient relationship with us or anyone else.
These Terms are an agreement between you and the operator of Halor identified in the Privacy Policy (§ 12).
2. Eligibility and account
You must be at least 18 years old and have reached the age of majority in your jurisdiction (whichever is higher). You are responsible for the accuracy of data you enter and for keeping your device and Apple ID secure (Halor's data protection depends on your device passcode and iCloud account security). One account per person; don't share accounts.
Creating an account makes you a Halor member. Membership is free. The weekly Healthspan Brief is optional and is not a condition of membership. The join screen lets you choose whether to receive it, and unsubscribing never affects app access.
3. Your data
Your health data stays on your device and, only if you enable backup, in your own iCloud — see the Privacy Policy. You own your data. You can delete your account and data in-app at any time (§ Privacy Policy 9).
4. Acceptable use
Don't attempt to reverse-engineer, resell, scrape, or misuse the app; don't use it to provide medical services to third parties; don't upload content you have no right to use (e.g. someone else's lab report without their consent).
5. Free access
Access to Halor is provided free of charge. We do not collect payment card or other payment credentials.
We may introduce paid features or subscriptions in the future. If we do, the applicable pricing, billing arrangements, renewal terms and cancellation terms will be presented to you before you purchase or subscribe, and any additional terms required for that purchase will apply from that point. Continuing to use the free features will not enrol you in a paid plan. Choosing the Healthspan Brief does not enrol you in a paid plan.
6. Intellectual property
The app, its content, curriculum, and branding are ours or our licensors'. Your data is yours. You get a personal, non-transferable licence to use the app.
7. Health content and sources
Halor's educational content synthesises published research and clinical guidelines (see the in-app Evidence library). Reference ranges and targets vary by jurisdiction and individual context — your clinician's guidance prevails over anything shown in Halor.
8. Limitations, disclaimers and indemnity
8.1 Rights that cannot be excluded. Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts or modifies any guarantee, right or remedy you have under law that cannot lawfully be excluded, restricted or modified — including under Singapore consumer protection legislation, the Australian Consumer Law, New Zealand consumer guarantees legislation, and Hong Kong consumer protection legislation. Where a guarantee applies and cannot be excluded, our liability for breach is limited, to the extent the law permits, to resupplying the service or paying the cost of having it resupplied.
8.2 What Halor is. Halor is a health-education and physician-preparation tool. It does not provide medical diagnosis, treatment, or professional healthcare advice, and it is not a medical device. Your use of Halor does not create a doctor–patient relationship. Halor is not a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis or treatment, and you should not delay seeking or disregard such advice because of anything in the app. The Health Disclaimer sets this out in full and forms part of these Terms.
8.3 Emergencies. Halor is not for use in medical emergencies. If you think you may be experiencing a medical emergency, contact your local emergency services immediately.
8.4 Exclusion of indirect loss. To the extent permitted by law and subject to clause 8.1, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, loss of profits, loss of business, or loss of data, arising out of or in connection with your use of Halor. The app is otherwise provided "as is" to the extent permitted by law.
8.5 Cap on liability. To the extent permitted by law and subject to clause 8.1, our total aggregate liability arising out of or in connection with these Terms is limited to the greater of the amount you have paid us for the service in the twelve months preceding the claim, or SGD 100. While Halor is free, this cap operates at SGD 100. This clause does not limit liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any other liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
8.6 Indemnity. You indemnify us against loss we suffer arising from (a) your use of Halor in breach of these Terms or in breach of applicable law, (b) your infringement of a third party's intellectual property or other rights, or (c) your deliberate misuse of the service. This indemnity does not extend to loss caused by our own negligence, our breach of these Terms, our breach of statutory duty, or any failure of the service itself.
9. Changes, suspension, termination
We may update the app and these terms; material changes will be shown in-app before they take effect. You can stop using Halor and delete your account at any time.
10. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Singapore, without regard to conflict of laws principles. You and we submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Singapore.
Nothing in this section deprives you of the protection of any mandatory provision of the law of the country in which you are habitually resident, or of the right to bring proceedings in the courts of that country where the law gives you that right and it cannot be waived.
Before commencing proceedings, we ask that you contact us at legal@halor.app so we can try to resolve the matter directly.
