This Cookie Policy explains what cookies are, which ones we use on halor.app, and how you can manage them.

It works alongside our Privacy Policy.

1. What cookies are

Cookies are small text files that a website places on your browser when you visit. They let the site remember information about your visit — settings, login state, preferences — and help the site work properly across pages.

Some cookies are essential to making a site work. Others help measure how the site is used, or remember your preferences. We disclose all of them below.

2. Categories of cookies we use

We group cookies into four categories. We use the first three. We do not currently use the fourth.

2.1 Strictly necessary

Required for halor.app to function. They handle session state, security (e.g., CSRF protection), and load-balancing. You cannot disable these via our consent banner because the site won't work without them.

2.2 Performance and analytics

Anonymized data about how visitors use the site — which pages are visited, how long sessions last, which signup paths convert. We use this in aggregate to improve the site. We do not build individual profiles.

2.3 Functional

Remember your preferences (e.g., consent banner choices) across visits.

2.4 Marketing and targeting

We do not currently use marketing or behavioural-targeting cookies. If we add any (e.g., a remarketing pixel) we will update this Policy and re-prompt for consent.

5. How to manage cookies

You have three layers of control:

5.1 Our consent banner

When you first visit halor.app, a consent banner asks whether to accept performance and functional cookies. Strictly necessary cookies cannot be disabled via the banner because the site relies on them.

You can change your choice at any time by clearing your wai_consent cookie in your browser, which will re-prompt the banner on your next visit, or by emailing privacy@halor.app to request a reset.

5.2 Browser settings

Most browsers let you view, manage, and block cookies. Specific instructions:

Disabling all cookies may break some site functionality (e.g., the signup form).

5.3 Third-party opt-outs

For analytics providers, you can typically opt out via the provider's own opt-out page. We will link to those once the provider is selected.

6. Consent

For visitors in the EU / UK / EEA (we don't market there but you may arrive via search), we apply EU-strict consent rules: explicit opt-in for non-essential cookies, with a "Reject all" option as prominent as "Accept all."

For visitors in Singapore, Hong Kong, Australia, and New Zealand, applicable law generally permits performance cookies subject to disclosure (which this Policy provides) and a reasonable opportunity to opt out (which our banner provides). We have chosen to apply the EU-strict standard across all visitors as a matter of design — you get a more privacy-friendly default everywhere.

We record your consent choices in the wai_consent cookie. If you withdraw consent, future page loads stop loading the affected categories (subject to caching).

7. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy when we add or remove cookies, change providers, or refine our consent mechanism. The "Last updated" date at the top changes when we do.

For material changes (e.g., adding marketing cookies), we will re-prompt for consent before the new cookies are set.
